I think my game is bugged, anyone know how to fix this problem?

So me and a friend had recently started playing Lego The Hobbit. When we came across this game breaking bug right after we had finished the 3rd mission Azog the defiler. Basically right after the level is completed (the part where Saruman I think starts narrating) he says a couple of lines while the eagle is flying around the loading screen, but thats it, the game doesnt load or end, the game just gets stuck on the loading screen with that damn eagle continuously flying around the loading screen.

So I decided to quit to the main menu after about ten minutes of this just to be sure it was in fact a bug and not just very slow loading, I try to load the game from the main menu and I cant even load up my save this early on in the game. I've also tried restarting the whole game again but the same exact bug keeps happening after the 3rd mission. I tried searching google to see if anyone else has experienced this bug or maybe has a fix for it but so far nothing.

So has anyone else run into this problem? anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

I bought this game YESTERDAY and for some stupid reason my game crashes every time I play. I have a PC with top specs, I promise you it can handle a lego game.

I have had it crash when I open up the menu, I have had it crash when I tab out, I have had it crash when I am trying to craft an item.

THE BIGGEST PAIN is that I can't get past the arkenstone. I get to the part of the game where I mine the arkenstone (what, like ten minutes in?) and then it goes to the cutscene. Smaug starts wreaking havoc all up in the town, and then it everything goes black except a few objects (almost as if I'm flying outside the map in a CS game or something) and then as soon as the game starts back up after the cut scene, I start falling endlessly through the freaking ground, behind the door I should be start in front of. The game doesn't crash, it just glitches and there's nothing I can do about it. I fall to my death until I am out of coins, and then I just keep on falling.

WHY THE HELL IS THIS GAME SO GLITCHY?!

Yeah I've encountered a lot of bugs with this game, but nothing as major as the gamebreaking one after mission 3. Im contemplating whether or not it would help if I uninstall and reinstall this game? seems like my only option so far.

i have the same problem. the game hangs in a loading screen. i encountered that problem after opening the door to beorns house and entering it. the game just won't go on and i can't get around it.

Yeah dude, so far it doesnt look like there is a solution to this problem, and if there is I haven't found it.

I had similar problem, but after reinstalling the game and restarting my PC, the problem disappeared. Have you tried checking your game cache and/or reinstalling the game?

No I haven't actually, I was going to reinstall today, and i am going to check my game cache now

If anyone is still wondering or has the same issue, the suggestions that BushwalkerSP gave worked for me, completely fixed the problem.
