enabling SGSSAA anti aliasing
OK I downloaded nVidia Inspector specifically for this game due to the horrendous AA. However, of course it doesn't want to work for me. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why?

Here is a link to a screenie of my inspector profile: http://i4.minus.com/ipn1GMYWjK7j4.png

Any point in the right direction would be hugely greatful, as the jaggies in this game make my eyes bleed. >.>

Thanks

I've changed some nVidia settings using the control panel that might be of some help:
Anisotropic Filtering: 16x
AA Mode: Override
AA Setting: 32x CSAA
AA Transparency: 8x (supersample)
Vsync: On

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but it looks better. I'm really mad at WB/TT to give us an inferior version of the game instead of the next gen one. It must've been a commercial decision.

Yea I've tried that as wll prior and it seemingly had no effect sadly. :/

Somone managed to get it working with nvidia inspector though on this German website as evidenced by these screen comparisons. But I, for the life of me, cant get it working! Frustrating.

no AA: http://abload.de/image.php?img=lhobbit_ohnensjl2.png
SGSSAA enabled: http://abload.de/image.php?img=lhobbit_sgssaavfzk3.png

Yet it doesnt want to work for me. Frustrating. And yea, super lame on this inferior version by WB/TT. Ugh.

Wow, mine looks like the one with SGSSAA enabled. What kind of a graphic card do you have? Something must be wrong with your settings. Have you tried to change Effects settings within the game? I get those jagged surfaces if I change all the settings to low or off. Mine is GTX 760.

GTX 680 and everything is maxed. But yea, mine looks like the one with the crazy jaggies. nVidia Control Panal has no effect and seems to not do anything with other games that dont have decent built in AA.

Have you tried the Lego Hobbit profile in nVidia Inspector? Instead of trying to change General Settings, why don't you try to load the game's profile from the drop down menu. I haven't tried it myself, but it could be worth trying.

Ok, you need to disable it on the Global profile and remove the AA flag there. (As well as remove any other changes you made on the global profile like that LoD adjustment. Leave LoD adjustment alone unless it's absolutely needed. aside from things like AF settings)

Then type in the text box at the top for "Lego The Hobbit"

Apply this to that profile like this!
(Make sure other settings from my screen match as well!)

(For note, I do not have this game. But do run the thread on Guru3D for this stuff. And it was initially someone else that found this information out. If you look at the thread here, the list for "All Lego Games except noted below" has references to the right http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=357956)

BAM! It worked! thanks Bonkers for taking the time to come by and help out. The game looks and feels a million times better now, thank you thank you thank you!
I see it was the global profile thing I was doing wrong, didnt even know that in particular needed changing.
Put it up to 8X SGSSAA and it's flawless. :)

There is a page on PCGW that embeds my sheet. Whenever I update anything it is automatically displayed here. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/List_of_anti-aliasing_compatibility_flags_for_Nvidia

And to answer your question, unless those DX11 Lego games support MSAA in the game(Or have a separate DX9 renderer) you are out of options sadly. Downsampling is your only option+Post Process AA.

Looking at the PCGW page looks like the embedding is broken, only shows a small window lol
