Many issues with Lego: The Hobbit :(
I recently started playing the game again and so far just about every cinematic the game will crash and when it does I am unable to even exit the game in any fashion what so ever so I am forced to hard boot. Launch the game again and then everything will run perfectly fine until the next new cinematic.

During the game some of the actual mechanics in the game won't load at all. An example, my most current, is fighting the Great Goblin. He is suppose to pick the boxes up and you shoot them with the arrow. The first two times i've done that fight he never once made to pick up any boxes. The first time I was able to quit the game and reload. The next time it crashed and then the third time I finally was able to shoot the arrow aaaand when he went to pick the 2nd box up it crashed once again.

I have had the above happen many times and while I am loving the game, when it works perfectly, I am unable to play the game. I don't want to have to keep restarting my computer every crash (waiting a set amount of time doesn't work either but I do get to listen to the music)

Everything on my computer is up to date. I have reinstalled the game hoping that it would work but no such luck. Not to mention looking on the steam forums and even on others I don't hold much hope in being able to finish this game. All the other LEGO games I have run perfectly (aside from one issue with the Marvel one).

If anyone can help me fix these issues or know some work around etc. please leave a comment :)

I'd try it in low res just to see if it works like that. This game has a lot of issues that running it in 1020 x 768 seems to make go away.

I had it running great, finished half the game and then all of he sudden the FPS dropped to 10 FPS and it's a mess with a hard reboot. Tried to edit the pcconfig file many times with no luck.

After some system diagnostics, I went into the directory and just right click-opened the exe file to start it and it was all good. Weird.

Not sure if it's direct x corruption, my card, my PSU, maybe overheating CPU. Checking my temps , but so far nothing out of the ordinary.

Though I have always played it at that resolution (1020 x 768) took a break from it and came back to crash central. I will try it at a different resolution Kadh2000 once I reinstall it.

dangerhighvoltage.... I never messed with the pcconfig file. I've tried that with a few other games and normally for me no luck. Most of the issues I have with games working fine and then suddenly going crazy mainly has to do with Windows updates and some file that decided to mess with everything. I will admit, for some reason, that is never occured to me to even open the file from its' folder rather than from Steam and that is something I will normally do. Suppose I made sure Admin mode was running with it....suppose my brain just crashed -_- . I checked my temps during the game (which turned out to be perfectly fine) among other things but, like you, nothing out of the normal. I did make sure everything was updated and everything was.

Thank you both for leaving a comment....I was about ready to just give up and let the game sit in my unfinished category. If this works I'll let you know :) I just need to reinstall the game again.

Changing the resolution to 800 x 600 has worked fine btw :) no issues with anything ^_^

Well I take my above comment back. Once I hit the very first scene with Radagast the game froze everything. Screen went black, music still played. Can't alt tab out or anything else for that matter. The only thing that worked was pressing ctrl, alt and del just so i could sign off my account. Task manager can't be brought up due to it bringing up a black screen just as in the game. I am sitll looking forward to playing the game :( but i am rather dissapointed with how many crashes there have been.
