How to save?

There is no option like this. I've played for more than 20 minutes, then went out. When I come back and try to load it starts from the beggining :O

Where is the first checkpoint?

It will flash on the screen when you enter it. You need to find the statue representing the check point close by and save your progress there. When free roaming or playing level in free mode you can exit any time by pausing the game and select Save and Exit.

I found it, the first one comes right after making first construction and finding the big round blue gem. Takes like 10-20 minutes from the beginning.

Unless you use a save statue, you cannot save where you are in the story/episode. You can only save your achievements such as gold, master burglar, minikits found etc.
