The one I mentioned is close to that quest as well.
To be clear - make sure you only ever do each quest one at a time. Speak to her again and as soon as you leave you should see a trail of yellow studs leading you to the correct cave. The issue arrises if you speak to another quest giver in the interim which is bad because this will result in the missing blacksmith not appearing in the cave.
I tore my hair out over this issue because the default mind set of most people is based on other games we play where you can go around collecting quests and fulfil them whenever we wish. This is not the case with the Lego games.
