So you're saying I should just play without bothering about them or what?
What do you mean by 100%? Breaking EVERY SINGLE BLOCK? Man that's insane!
What I usually do is play all the way through on story to unlock as many characters possible and hopefully gain enough to buy at least the first stud multiplier. And a confession; I cheat just a little - the stud multipliers are the one thing I always look up so I can get the x2 asap.
Ok. In the first mission here, I see a collectible in one of the early room, on top of a pile of indestructible Lego. You mean to say, stuff like this which I CANNOT get in my regular playthrough, I can get when I unlock new characters?
Yes, once you unlock free play by finishing a given level in story mode. That pile of lego is probably destructible by a character not playable in story mode, or Gandalf can reach it with magic, or something else.
I'm just really confused. I don't want to explore every nook and cranny the first time if I still need to do that again to get all unlockables. For the main story, there is no real benefit of exploring, is there? It is more of a completionist thing, right?
Studs are basically Lego money. You use them to purchase character & redbricks. The redbricks are cheats that you turn on/off from the pause menu. They typically offer cheats such as studs x2, x4, etc as well as invincibility etc.
Hope that helps.
So basically there is a main game for action and narration, and an after game for puzzles and exploration?
What exactly are collectibles then?
