Over Hill and Under Hill Glitch

I've been playing through levels to complete them (get all the minikits, schematics, etc.). In the level "Over and Under Hill" there is a minecart one must smash out of their way. After doing that, there is a minikit within that one can obtain with the flail. I have tried to get it open using characters (multiple versions of Dori) as well as with treasures, and have tried this in multiple sessions of the game. Neither Dori nor a freeplay character recognizes that the hook is even on the cart. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any suggestions?

This is one of the few that Dori has to be forced to grab by "attacking" the minecart as if the flail was a ranged weapon. If that doesn't work for you, I don't have any other suggestions.

That did the trick! Thanks a ton! It is kinda weird that it's the one instance where you have to use the flail as a ranged weapon when most other hooks won't let you attach that way.
