Keyboard, controller and 1 player questions

Just got this game and with an xbox controller plugged in I get splitscreen and can't quit the keyboard to use controller only. Even unplugging the keyboard doesn't work. The controller doesn't work as you would think it would with only 1 input device plugged in. Also, I can't figure out how to switch between characters. Hitting Y on the controller doesn't do anything (because again, I think it thinks it's 2 players playing). I also don't even see how to switch characters on keyboard only.

How you plug in controller? Ingame or before starting game?

make sure you have your control setup in the steam settings. if it is then go to the ingame options under the controls there is an option at the bottom to change devices.

First go to option, then control configuration. And finally press a button after clicked on change device. After you drop out if you are already in gameplay.

I think when you start you have to use the controller right away, then you will play with controller.

(Same thing in Overcooked, if you press space at beginning you can't get rid of the keyboard.)

I believe that you have mistaken Lego hobbit for Psychonauts. Because I did played this game after i have got it. It was defaulted for keyboard at first.

yeah it always defaults to keyboard but after you set up the controller you can just press a button on the main screen with the controller, otherwise you have to do the whole thing with the options menu
