Argh. Battle vs Bolg in Laketown

No matter what I do, I cannot defeat Bolg the third time. I hit all the buttons right, and I get to the part where he SHOULD be defeated (Legolas points his swords sideways at Bolg), but Bolg gets up and keeps fighting! AARRRGGGHHH. Is this a bug that I can fix or do I really need to start the game over again and hope that it doesn't happen next time?

I recognize this post is kind of aged, so I hope you've been able to work through this issue, but if not I just want to say that the only solution I have found for this is to just keep trying until the game decides you've done it right. I have this issue every single boss battle, and I freely admit I'm not that great at games and a lot of mistakes are my own, but I am firmly of the opinion that this is an issue of the game itself. Every boss battle makes me want to curl up and die, but in order to progress--I'm determined to get to free play--I slog through it for up to hours total until the game follows through. Sorry that's not a great help, but it's all I've found that works. Best wishes.

(I know this is 2 years too late, but...)
I had this same issue. After many pointless battles, and some internet searching, I came across a fix: if you are using a controller, switch to using the keyboard for this section. I tried this, and managed to finally finish this mongrel of a level!
