What are the yellow and blue stars on my units?
Sometimes units have one star. Other times they have two stars, a blue and yellow star.

What does this mean, please? Why is it not explained in the game anywhere?

For such an easy interface and straightforward game, there is a lot left unexplained.

Make sure to play the tutorials, they provide a lot of this information. For example, it is explained the blue stars represent units that are within the command radiuis of the command and control unit, which they get morale and combat bonus.

Thank you again. I did watch the tutorials. I guess I missed that.

So, what do the yellow stars mean?

For yellow, I am not sure...seems to come up after engaged with the enemy, so maybe representing something with morale...but purely a guess.

Ok. I hope a developer can respond to this one.

This is a great example of the second most requested change to the game.....put in tooltips...this way we could hover over the icons and it will tell us this information, especially if no manual created and not included in the tutorials....I am hoping they do that in the next patch...just a common thing done in all successful games.

I am not going to bother with this game until the slow down option is out. Till then it is a waste of time for me. I just did Antietam in just over 5 minutes.

I'll be back when it slows down and I can see what is going on with this game. Then maybe I'll have a comment or suggestion or two.

Well, hopefully Thursday, OZ. I will probably play it a bit, just to mess around, but I'm with you. It's basically a monkey arcade game right now until they slow it way, way down.

The devs said they were looking to slow it down. On the other hand, you can still pause and give orders.
We're working on the getting the patch submitted to Steam by tomorrow, hopefully they'll approve it pretty fast (though at that point things are out of our hands).

As for yellow stars, they were a late addition to the gameplay. Basically they represent a temporary victory buff granted to units (and nearby allies) when an enemy unit is routed or destroyed.

The buff makes a unit more effective in battle and - if memory serves - less likely to rout.

Thanks for the info! So when winning a melee, the troops get a morale boost. Makes sense. Wonderful game, btw. Just what I was looking for. Now if I can just get beyond a draw in battle ;)
Exactly! We like the idea of soldiers getting a boost when seeing the enemy getting their butts whupped (to put it technically)!

Really glad you're enjoying the game, keep at it and you'll be victorious!

I just kicked the rebel's asses at the first Manassas--hey, that rhymes! I also killed their general and destroyed their baggage train.

Incidently, the cavalry I sent to Sudley's Crossing never made it across, they just got stuck there. Sometimes it seems the troops build pontoons right next to a bridge is. I was hoping my arrow wasn't too sloppy, so they'd take the easiest closest route.
Congrats!

We're aware that troops occasionally get confused with bridges & pontoons. It's something we mostly hammered out pre-release, but it still happens occasionally.

Apologies, it's on our fix list :)

I'm not upset or anything, just going to wait for the slow down option. Even with pausing the game is over too quickly in it's present form. So I'll chill out while they give me the option to slow it down a bit.

Thanks for the details and I like the idea of a bonus....but not sure I agree with the choice of a yellow star. At least in the USA, typically the yellow color is used to identify caution. When I see something yellow, it makes me think I should be cautious or something is negative going to happen. In this case it sounds like the opposite and something positive happened.

Not a huge deal....hopefully in the patch this might be added to the tutorial or if tool tips added this will be easier to identify. Thanks.
