European version?
The European version called Tombi is planned! ?
I remember that it was translated and dubbed into English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

That was just an European title. Nothing else.

You do understand this isn't region locked, yes?

I know but in addition to the European title it was also fully dubbed in the various languages, which apparently won't be in the Steam version, it also had a different intro.
Furthermore, the title "Tomba!" in Italian it means tombstone, which is why it was changed to "Tombi!". :steamsad:
it's just a name i think. i don't think you should lose sleep over having to call the main character what the rest of the world calls him.
interesting case, normally when a silly name change happens it's done by the us while the eu keeps the japanese name.

Don't worry, mine is just a legitimate question, if they decided to keep the title the same all over the world that's fine too but this will inevitably cause the European dubbing to be lost and that's a shame.

Is there even any difference? I'm pretty sure there was the Japanese version, and then everywhere else, but in Europe they called it Tombi! Because Tomba! Sounds like a negative word in Italian. Otherwise I'm pretty sure the only difference is the vowel.

Maybe you guys can create a mod that changes the title to say Tombi! Instead of Tomba! But it would be an incredibly sad thing to delay this release for even 1 additional second because a few people are wanting a vowel to be changed lol

As I already said, it's not a big problem, the difference is only in the name, but keeping the name Tomba throughout the world will inevitably cause the loss of the original dubbing in European languages, especially if Tombi! 2 is published in the future, which has many lines of dialogue dubbed films where the protagonist's name is pronounced several times.

Again, it's not a problem but it would be a shame to lose the original European dubs.

In the first Tomba/i there is only one dubbed scene, considering that the presence of subtitles in various languages has already been confirmed, the lack of dubbing does not seem like a great loss to me.

It will be if they release Tombi!2 in the future.

C'è da dire che il doppiaggio italiano di Tombi 2 era terrificante (io infatti l'ho sempre abbassato, visto che fortunatamente c'era l'opzione di silenziare solo le voci). 😅
