Selling Abroad
Started a new marque and branch in London, parent company based in US. Made a couple vehicles in the US specific to the Euro market but they are not selling at my London branch. All of my other vehicles however are selling there. Tried to change the marque on the dealership to specify my new marque and hence vehicles to make it exclusive to these vehicles but no dice.

I am awaiting my factory to be built in London which I think may solve the problem, but ensured that my shipping distances for a few dealerships in the US will accommodate while I await the factory. Still seems like I may be missing something. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Seems that selling them stateside triggered them to sell abroad. Fascinating. Bug?

Setting ownership of the branches by marque won't restrict sales there.

Did anything else change during this time period? Between them selling stateside and them selling in London? What year are you in? Could UK be at war? What about shipping distances on the individual models? When you started selling the model state side, did you hit "Apply to All"?

I'll see if I can duplicate the issue.

Thanks for the response, Eric. Aside from what I noted above as far as "triggering" sales abroad by selling stateside, nothing else changed aside from the creation of a new marque earlier the same year, which is 1952. Shipping distances for my producing factory and branch in Cincinnati and all points east have been changed to allow ample coverage. I wasn't aware that you could modify shipping distance by individual model, so I managed it by branch. When I started selling stateside, I did in fact use apply to all then changed the pricing of the units at the UK branch.

Ah, yup, that seemed to be the issue.

If you set shipping at the branch level, but did not check the "All Vehicles Inherit Branch Shipping Distance" check box, then any new vehicle added for sale at that branch will have the default shipping distance. Which wouldn't be far enough to reach Cincinnati.

The branch level shipping works as a sort of "apply to all vehicles at branch" for shipping distances. It only effects the vehicles being sold there at the time you hit "Apply". If the "Inherit" check box is checked, then it would work as an apply to anything sold here, even after I click "Apply".

You can change the shipping distance for individual vehicles, that's the "Shipping Distance" button in the Branch Distribution window (where you set the prices). :)

Brilliant, thanks for the clarification. Been playing the game off and on for sometime now and now, as a car salesperson I've taken an especially keen interest in playing the game quite a bit as of late. Thanks again, Eric. :steamhappy:

Final question, somewhat within topoic: is there a specific functionality for the " Assign Marque Ownership" button at the branch level, or simply aesthetics?

If you were to spin off the marque or sold it. Then the marque would take the branch with it.

In v1.22.3 or v1.22.4, we'll also be allowing the Auto Production system to produce vehicles in factories specific to a marques. (Factories also have a marque ownership drop down as well.) Although that won't effect the branches any. :)
