Company bought in bankruptcy - issue

I had at one point created a wholly owned subsidiary, Rabbit, which I spun out with plants and branches. Some time later I got a pop up saying that the company was bankrupt and I could buy it back, plants and all, for $1 and assuming its 1.2 billion in debt.

First, my cash was not docked for the debt. I went to the bank thinking to pay it off. There was no bank debt. There were some bonds which I retired but I think they were unrelated and did not add up to 1.2 billion.

Second, the company had at least 2 plants. One of them is in Birmingham and the other in Mumbai. When I go to those plants there is nothing being produced and yet there are Zero lines available. But...if I go to the map...in Birmingham for instance it says there are 5 lines in use.

I figured there was something kooky going on and I only wanted the plants anyway so I sold the Marque without the plants and branches. Still can't use the plant.

Any clue?

Did you already have plants at those locations? There was a bug in v1.20 that caused duplicate factories when taking over companies.

Check the mega menu and see if there are duplicate cities listed in the factory drop down in the upper right.


Outside of that, the purchase amount of $1 seems a bit low (perhaps because you own 100% shares.) The debt is taken directly from the amount of outstanding loans and bonds the company has outstanding. I would need to see the save game file before you purchased them in order to see if this is correct.

The only debt you pay off at purchase time is Lines of Credit since you can only have one line open in the game.

Also any duplicate factory/branches should be sold off which depending on how large the company is could cover some of the debt.

Take that back, I see why you didn't get the debt when purchasing them and why the costs were so low. That should be fixed now and will be in v1.20.1.

Interesting. But still I have 2 plants which I cannot use.

I am pretty sure I did not have plants in those cities prior to purchase. And there are no duplicates in the megamenu.

Maybe the plants got sold but I am not sure why if I was assuming all of the debt. Perhaps something like that happened and the shell of a plant came to me but was unusable.

Oh well, on to the next version, this game will not be playable in 1.21 correct?

There is a chain of events that occur that can cause duplicate factories before you purchased the company. As well after you purchased the company. These have been fixed in 1.20.1

I have already figured out and fixed the debt issue. It was showing the debt of the company that would purchase this company if you declined to purchase them. This will be included in 1.20.1

Oh well, on to the next version, this game will not be playable in 1.21 correct?

1.21 is not for another 2-3 months. I believe you mean 1.20.1.

1.20.1 is not compatible with 1.20. This is why it is being released to "Testing" build.

However you can at anytime switch to 1.20 using Steam and play your 1.20 save games.
1.20 will be available for the next 9 months easily.

I have had the same problem a few times, when i bought a new brand. For example the factory has 12 lines, but you can't use them as they are in use, but nothing is produced.

What i did is upgrade the factory. And after the upgrade the original lines became available.
