Run-Time Error 339 After Patch 1.4
Hey,

After updating the game, I can't get the game to run: If I would start a new game, with whatever starting settings, I would get

"Run-time error '339':
Component 'MSCHRT20.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

and the game would crash. The same thing would happen to loading my previous saves but there would be a delay where the in-game screen would load but shows that I have 0$. After the money would be updated, the game would show the same error and crash. I am currently using Windows 8.1 and the game worked fine the last time I played it (October).

Also, this was mentioned by someone else before, but since it doesn't seem to be included in the current patch, I would like to bring it up again: since the ratings of actors/directors/producers doesn't change over time, is it possible to add an option that would prevent them from aging too? I think this would be pretty cool especially using it with real life actors.

Good job on the game and hope you keep working on this game.
Happy New Year

Thats very strange, no components other than the .exe were changed and no dependencies were touched... anyway, try this:

1. My advice would be to go to the C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Showtime\Redist folder, right click on the file VB6-RuntimeFiles.exe and run as administrator. Do the same for the other .exe in that directory too. Restart your computer after its finished and then try the game...

2. If its still not working: Could you please go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/957924/

On the page will be a download link for a Microsoft package to install a number of runtime files. These will also be useful for other apps you may have difficulty running in the future as well; it installs a number of commonly used libraries to your PC and being a Microsoft signed package you shouldn’t have any problems in registering it.

Please let me know if this fixes your problem.
