I've always wanted to play this game, ever since I saw the anime years ago and learned it was a game first. Not like, dying, to play it, but when I heard it was available on Steam I couldn't open the store page fast enough. It was exciting! 30$? A bit high, but screw it, I got paid...

Except thankfully I checked, and while this supports 16:9 and a few modern features... it straight up gets rid of the original presentation.

Absolute deal breaker; and to the point I was so frustrated I went and found an original Japanese copy, an old translation patch, and spent the time to figure out how to play it on my Windows 11 PC - in it's 4:3, 640x480, presentation.

All of that work was more worth it to me to just play the game as original intended, vs 30$ to pay for a "but it's better now!" version. This is the kind of silly nonsense that makes Capcom executives confused that people would ever play the original Resident Evil games when the remakes exist.

Enhanced OPTIONS are fantastic.
Forced enhancements are the lowest of trash.

Just to further my point, the version I have includes the explicit content. I (just as personal preference, to each their own) don't care for that, not one bit. I'm willing to put up with it though because it has the ORIGINAL PRESENTATION. Just think about that for a second.

I highly doubt anyone of consequence will read, or care, about this, but I'm putting it out there anyway. The lack of care for the original presentation cost them my money, and probably some others.

I also wish they kept the old school look in the Ui, like they did with Planetarian; but beggars can't be choosers I guess. (Clannad was published by Sekai Project so I didn't count it for that reason)
