Question about game features

Considering getting this soon (also Air, deciding between the two) and wondering something about the functionality of the skip button. I know in the version of Clannad I have the skip button skips both read and unread text (which isn't ideal). Is that that the case here or can I skip only read text?

Got the game in the end and there is an option to only skip previously read text, if anyone else is ever wondering.
