Kanon

What Made Kanon And Kanon ( 2006 ) Different?
I wasn't aware Kanon was a SoL anime. I remember Kanon 2006 had a more somber tone.

Unless I'm somehow confusing this with Air. Been years since I last saw any of Key's anime.

The original Kanon was animated by Bandai Namco, while 2006 was animated by KyoAni.

Kanon 2006 is an overall greatly improved version whereas the original still had some unique things that I appreciated even if its very inferior.
The original also has a different OP which is worth looking at and I still look at it from time to time.

Overall, unless you are like me then you only need to watch the 2006 version and maybe the OP of the original.
And if you do watch both then you should still watch the 2006 version first.

KyoAni's anime adaptation is much better. I watched the original adaptation 1st and KyoAni's later, but still enjoyed both.

I'd say the main difference from Kanon 06 to the VN is that the Mai/Sayuri route has much better integration in the anime adaptation. The VN has a weird mini route that happens mid way through a playthrough that can't be accessed until you've completed the Mai route that fully wraps everything up in relation to that route. And it just comes across as a clunky and unintuitive.
