It's honestly one of the best anime films in recent memory. Kinda sad it's not more well known in the west, haven't really seen many people talk about it.

I rewatched it just now before the game launched. It's incredible.

It's probably too early to say (unless there was an official announcement somewhere), but do I need to watch the movie before playing it? I am still waiting for any company to release it in Europe, so I got only the base series under my belt.

EDIT. Oh god, just realised the movie came out in 2021, I bet it's a "must read" at this point.

The Sentai Blu Ray is region free, I ended up importing it.

Can confirm. I bought and watched it on my EU PS4 no problem.

Also from what little I've read so far, I'd say it's really important to watch the movie before playing. This is a direct sequel and it is referenced.

I ordered the movie, I got the movie, I watched the movie, I was in awe because of the movie, Claudine and Maya best ponies, followed closely by queen Kaoruko and Futaba. The best Utena since Utena, now I'm ready for the game (gonna buy it on Switch though).
