Kind of a bummer after loving all three of Mr. Jonny's previous games (published on itch.io). There's technically "more" going on (more puzzles, a more overt story, longer overall playtime, two endings, an inventory system...) but the result features a scenario that feels a bit more contrived and "gamey" than earlier projects from the same dev.

Example: The inventory system is almost vestigial (you get an expanded number of slots from 4->6 before you can even have 4 items, and the expanded amount of slots only matters once while collecting some bones--basically just determines whether you have to make 2 trips or 3 trips to deposit the bones at their destination).

Atmosphere I think is weaker than previous titles--it's more "action-horror" which isn't inherently a bad thing, but it's somewhat kneecapped by relying wholly on "press X to hide in thing until monster gets bored and leaves" for the bulk of the playthrough.

Also, James is sincerely the worst and the implication that "forgiving" him (on behalf of two innocent people he had killed out of spite) is the "good" ending is pretty frickin' jank.

Very enjoyable and spooky.
