Game isn't launching, starts "running" in Steam but immediately shuts down without launching. (Win 7)

hey there, not really a game bug but i am having issues capturing with obs. just getting a black screen. i have tried log report thing and nothing seems to be the issue. running in admin mode and disabled plugins. the error message is "game-capture: 'GAME'] attempting to hook process: Utopia Must Fall.exe"

has anyone had this problem?

The game just crashes instantly for me:

I think we needed to include a redistributable in the installation process, which I just changed. Can you uninstall and install again, and see if that worked?

That fixed it, didn't even need to reinstall (though I did verify integrity again beforehand which may have been what let me avoid reinstall)

Running the game on Windows 11 and for some reason, the game only displays as a completely black screen? I've never seen this before, and I have no clue what's causing it. I thought it was just taking forever to load up, but then I noticed there were some things I could click on that I couldn't see that seemed to actually get the game started. When the game's custom cursor (presumably) kicked in along with the music, I couldn't see those, either.

I'm running on a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 laptop. Specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics
RAM: 32GB
GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti (The better of the two)
GPU 1: AMD Radeon Graphics (The power saving one, often default unless the system determines it needs more power for something or I manually change what GPU a program uses)
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home Version 10.0.22631

I managed to fix the issue. What I had to do was manually add the game to Window's graphics settings and set it to high performance (Using the GTX 1650 Ti GPU). That allowed it to render the graphics successfully.

Perhaps there's something weird with the game regarding GPU priority for systems with multiple of them installed or something? Could also just be a Windows 11 thing, but I've never seen that happen before where it just completely refuses to render something unless I explicitly tell it which GPU it should be using. Usually defaults to the integrated graphics.

Performance on Mac (M2 Max, Sonoma 14.6.1) is now significantly lower than the demo version (which had no issues). Graphics settings need to be on Basic to keep playable fps beyond ~level 20.

That's very odd, should be that slow - I have 2 macs, one silicon and one much older intel and they both play the game fine on high detail. Sorry for the possibly silly question but:

- How does it play after a restart
- Do you have the battery-saving "low power mode" checked in Settings? That will throttle the game for sure.
