Please, name your protagonists!
I know that sometimes developers don't name the protagonist to make things feel more immersive, but in games like this it doesn't really work. In an age where people constantly complain about the lack of female protagonists, you can hold up your characters as examples, if only they had names. "How about in point and click adventure and hidden object games, such as Erica Reed, Sam Everett, and that chick in Grim Legends who had a twin sister named Lilly?" just doesn't really cut it. I was in fact a bit shocked that in Siren's Call you actually gave your main character a full name, even though her daughter was still nameless even on the trading card. (She looks like a Mandy. Maybe a Tiffany.) And that poor nameless protagonist from Abyss: Wraiths of Eden. If you ever make Abyss 2, where they have to take down that possessed rat or whatever, here: Andrea Ryan. That one's free. You're welcome.

Give your characters some life. Don't have everyone call them "sis", "mom" or "darling." Even if it's forehead-slappingly bad: I would have groaned had you named this main character "Milly" to go with "Lilly" but it would have been better than nothing!

Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. You guys make great names, but if you flesh out your protagonists you could have excellent games.

I understand what you are saying. I actually kind of wish the Detective in the ENIGMATIS series had a name, at least a last name (like Det. Maza or Det. Pezzini). But still retain the option of given her a first name as part of the profile creation setup. It would make sense to name the character you play in a series like Nightmares from the Deep, since she stars in all three titles. But for an anthology series like the Grim Legends, I don't mind keeping the main character nameless even though I see your point.

Thanks for your feedback guys! As you can probably notice, some of our protagonists do have names. Not naming a protagonists serves a purpose of giving the players the opportunity to identify with the character even more. But you made some valid points and we are certainly taking such insights into consideration while working on new releases :-)

this always bothers me, its so weird to play through a game with no character name and it's almost never needed or done right. Nice points.

You could make your protagonist a man for once. Just once... ;)

You can play as Dr Ink in the additional adventure of Clockwork Tales and as Hamilton in the additional adventure of Enigmatis.

While I have no problem with blank slate, nameless protagonists, it is harder with this one becouse even in the first few hours of the first game, I know how this character looks, what she sounds like, basic relations and, most importantly, more or less how she behaves. To me, she has a clear identidy and that is why it feels weird that she isn't named. If there was more character choice then it makes sence to have the players name them so they can craft their own identidy, but this woman already has one.
