Cannot pass intro. Mag Glass doesnt work.

So in the intro it tells me to pick up the photo with the magnifiying glass to learn more about the evidance. I pick up the glass and click on the photo. Nothing happens. Then I can just moust over the photo and repeatedly click on it doing nothing. If I drop the mag glass it makes me start this part of the tutorial again.

If I cannot pass this I cannot play at all. How will I ask for a refund if it comes to that?

well if you figure it out let me know please. I could not get a refund because it was gifted to me and I had to jump through hoops to try and do it. Now its sitting here useless :(

I have the exact same problem only when I click on my magnifying glass and move it over to the picture it dissappears under the picture and entire frame. When I click on the picture with the magnifying glass it does nothing. The only way I can get out of the game is to pres esc and go back to the main menue. Any help?

I have encountered this very same problem and find that I am unable to progress past the beginning of the game. Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem?

Having this problem too. The photo zooms in if I mouse the magnifying glass over *just* the right spot, but even when I click it does nothing.

Think I found the issue for me at least... If you are on Windows, go into your display settings and if you have the text magnified (under a box called "Change the size of text, apps, and other items..."), set it back to 100%. Log out of Windows, then log back in and give it a try. You may need to reinstall and/or create a new save profile as well.

Thank you for the idea. Sadly, it did not work for me. I'm going to contact steam. I am working with Surface pro and windows 10. Maybe that has something to do with my problem.

I had the same problem, and managed to pass the intro by running the game in a VMWare Player virtual machine (Ubuntu 16 LTS). I believe I could have passed it all the same also by installing on a different computer just to get past the issue. I have then been able to continue on my main rig. Apparently an issue with how coordinates are calculated. Pity the devs don't seem interested in fixing the issue. It is a big issue.

Just play the game without the tutorial, then you don't have to click the magnifying glass. You can view a close up of the evidence without it.

To restart the game :
1) Go to the game Proprieties (Steam client) > Disable Steam Cloud synchronization for Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek
2) Delete files in [...]Steam\userdata[Your ID]\284750
3) Delete files in [C: ou D:]\Users\[your name]\AppData\Roaming\Artifex Mindi\Enigmatis_TheGhostOfMappleCreek
4) Launch "Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek" and start a new game.
5) After some progress in the game, return to the game Proprieties (Steam client) and Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek (without leaving the game)

Work fine for me (Windows 10). Good luck.

What a frickin joke. My wfie bought this game all excited to play and right of the bat, there is a major problem. A holes!

Same problem as everyone else.

I created a shortcut to the game on the desktop, right clicked it and went to properties, clicked windows xp service pack 3 and clicked use same settings for everyone, which gave me the run program as administrator. Applied all this.

Ran the game and everything seems to be working properly. I did have to create a new profile for her after doing this.

This was also on a Windows 10 pro machine.

Hopefully this fixes all the issues and none will pop up in the middle of the game!
