But Microsoft never shown interest bringing in forward any older series that’s not Halo (outside of one GoW remaster?). Even to their own platform as see with the backcompat program now being ended.

I disagree. That was old thinking. But now 1. Gamepass. And well phil wants games everywhere, and pc gamepass to grow.
Technically they could release both separately, what I would prefer and on steam. Or, make an app, put it on steam, let users buy the game and p lo ay through it. Many companies fo this now on steam.
What seems most likely to me, currently, is that we'll see a native PC port done by the community. Now that there's tooling and expertise for it and the Sonic Unleashed port turned out so well there's been a lot of calls for Lost Odyssey to be the next project.
