Is there a mod to allow using other osts?
the option to easily switch ost is interesting, but since i still havent played any of the games included in the "collaboration ost", i was thinking maybe theres a way to use it to manually set other ost to play along the game.

Would be cool to use tracks from Xenogears, FFIX, and other classic Square titles.

yes, or any other rpg. or even with remixes or scores from films. i have played most ff games, but i skipped ff11, and everything after ff12, because i didnt liked their new direction (the "rpg on rails" approach they had for a while)

i just hope someone knows if that exists, or at least this becomes a sort of "mod suggestion/request" to anyone with the right skills.

you do get whats the difference in quality of that approach right?

the point is to allow the game to sync, fade and play the appropriate looped themes, according to the events that trigger them.

also, if im going to grind in a game to level up or do something repetitive, i like to play a podcast or audiobook, so i dont get bored of the music, and also get new info about anything.

The Final Fantasy soundtracks are mixed in with the rest of the audio data in the Steam install directory. They're in the /wav folder, but they're not actually .wav files. I'm assuming any audio file with the correct name and format would play in-game from the OST select menu. I doubt the game is fussy enough to be checking the metadata on background music.
