They'll obviously want to keep it in for the next steam sale, after that who knows.
Well no, that's not the strategy at all nor has it ever been. And Denuvo doesn't get cracked at all these days.
They will likely remove it after about six months, but it could be sooner (DQ Monsters got it removed something like after five weeks).
I am completely with you!
I will indeed boycott this game until Denuvo is removed. I don't buy games with a Denuvo infection. That are games that you are guaranteed to loose some time in the future. As soon as the Denuvo kill switch kicks in, the game becomes unplayable. And that can be literally any time the developer/publisher thinks it's fun to do so.
I personally hate every for of DRM, because I have lost several games in the past to that horrible stuff. Games I payed good money for, but are now completely unplayable. DRM have ripped those games out of my hands, without any form of compensation.
I only buy DRM infested games when they are bottom barrel dirt cheap, so I do not lost much money if they steal it away from me. So yeah - I have some games with DRM, but I will never ever feel comfortable with them. I cannot predict how long it is possible to play those games, and when they get ripped out of my hands (it's WHEN, not IF). It's not a nice feeling.
I am also indeed buy my games on GOG as first choice if possible. I now even have more games on GOG than I have on Steam, and DRM is a big reason for that. Even the not too intrusive Steam DRM still sit not nice with me.
So yeah - Maybe this is a good game, and maybe not. I will see that when Denuvo is removed (or the game becomes dirt cheap, like €5 or so), and not one second sooner...
For their recent games, SE has had the trend to remove Denuvo after 6 months, so check again in June. For the game to get a a 90% discount and a cost of 5€, though, be prepared to wait for 6,000+ years.
FOrtunately it was a AAA game that wasn't ported from mobile.
And I can apprectiate the fact it's a absolute "hidden" gem by teh creators of the original final fantasy but............
for that money I can buy BG3, Space Marine 2, Indiana moans, Stalker 2 etc etc
The price is just too damned high
