Mistwalker on Steam?! Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon coming soon? Would you buy?
Really enjoyed both back in the good old days. It made me glad I choose an Xbox 360 over the Playstation 3 first.

Would you buy and if you've played before would you buy again?

would i buy? yes, is it going to happen? probably not. they said they weren't interested in porting older games, plus i don't really expect this one to sell well enough for them to consider porting the rest sadly

I would buy Lost Odyssey. I never really liked Blue Dragon much but I'd probably buy that too.

I'd buy them. I've heard a lot of people mention them recently and I never got to experience either one. A coworker yesterday even talked about Lost Odyssey to me totally randomly.

Lost odyssey is pretty damn good IMO. Yeah I'd buy that again for 4k 60+ on pc.

I can't exactly remember when but I do recall an interview saying they had lost assets or source code when they moved offices to hawaii so I wouldn't expect a remaster TBH. Best you could hope is for an emulated version at this point.

Unless they decide to remake either game

Lost Odyssey being locked to such a ♥♥♥♥ system is criminal. It really deserves being on PC.

Xenia is your friend, they run perfect if you have a half decent PC...

Microsoft owns the IP to Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, whereas Apple didn't ask for IP ownership when Fantasian was funded.

No I generally don't buy games twice, no matter the quality, as long I can play the originals I stick with them.

I don't I'd buy Lost Odyssey. Played it, beat it, squeezed it's juice to the last drop. Loved my time with it, but it is not worth doing a second run.

This probably isn't as impossible as it seems at first. Backwards compatible 360 titles aren't running natively on modern Xbox consoles due to the significant differences in the hardware. It's all emulated. This is good news though because it means Microsoft already has a stable 360 emulator and a database of configuration settings for running Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.

Do I think they'll port them to Steam? No, but they certainly could, and it would require next to no effort since the work is already done. If Microsoft owns any part of the IP then asking for ports on this forum isn't going to get anywhere though. Someone at Mistwalker is likely reading this board, but Microsoft doesn't have a reason to.

But I would love a copy of Lost Odyssey in 4k without the disc swapping. I'd pay $60 for that in a heartbeat. Same for Blue Dragon.

I've always wanted to play Lost Odyssey but never owned an Xbox. Would definitely buy if it was on Steam.

i would rather it not get locked to microsoft store as an emulated game. we can already emulate it on pc and you can argue whether it's legal or not regardless of whether you buy a used physical copy for it, but unless it's on steam, i don't think i would buy it.
