Indeed, The Last Door has been available to play for free online for a while now, but the community surrounding the game encouraged The Game Kitchen to make a proper release through digital platforms such as Steam.

What you will find here that you won't find with the free version include new graphics, new and improved audio, the full orchestral soundtrack, four brand new never-before-seen "mini-sodes", Steam achievements, and of course all four episodes of the game available in one package.

The Game Kitchen had a successful run through Kickstarter to fund the first episode, and then they took the crowdfunding to their own site, which saw the community rise time and again to fund each new episode. A Steam Greenlight campaign followed, which was successful as well. The official release on digital platforms with the Collector's Edition sees the team at The Game Kitchen reach the pinnacle of their dreams, and we hope that people will care to support this indie project with the low price of admission to this fantastic horror show.

I played it on kongregate a while ago. Thought it was pretty cool for a flash game. Definitely among the better ones. don't think I will drop $14 though (it's 10 EUR..) since I have already seen 90% of the content for free. Graphics from the screenshots look identical to what I played. For a flashgame: great. For a hefty price release on steam? not for me.

Glad this got a release. Sure I could play the free flash version, but I like to give people money for things that I like so that it ensures that I will get MORE of the things I like, usually from the same people who made the thing I liked in the first place. :)

tl;dr, I'll throw money at people for a job well done. I hear they like that kind of thing.

Didnt thought that this Graphics could bring such great Athmosphere.

I've held off playing the game on Kongregate until it was released here on Steam (I almost pledged for the Kickstarter, but just didn't have the extra funds at that time). Now that I've played through it once already....this game is fantastic! I'll be supporting you guys in your future endeavors for sure.
