Can someone please explain
why this is 10 dollars? I was looking at getting the little chapters from the website and at 0.99 cents an episode with season one having a whopping total of 4 chapters (and the first one is free, mind you) I'm trying to figure out what justifies this collection being 10 dollars. I see the vague extra features, but does someone know, specifically, what it is that the extra 7 dollars are going towards? Like what kind of extra stuff are we talking about? I'm just curious so I can decide which one to buy.

well the store page mentions "Featuring new scenes and puzzles, enhanced graphics, unlockable bonuses, and remastered sound"

Yeah, I read that, but the pictures don't look any different and in a game with such low-res graphics anyway (which is fine, I loved Chapter 1) I don't see how that would matter, so I was wondering exactly how much extra content I would be getting. Seems like a lot of money to spend if it's just going to be a few extra things, so I was wondering if it was worth it if anyone played both and knows the specific differences.
Because you should pay decent money for a decent product? Jeez, complaining about $10... do you know how much work went into this project?

I got this for half price. Things on Steam often go on sale. Something that's $10 today may be $5 tomorrow. For future reference, if you don't want to pay full price for something, just stalk it until it goes on sale. Or, you know, you could just pay full price if you REALLY want a game. It's $10, not $49.99 like some games on here are.

ftr it's not that I have a problem with paying 10 bucks for a game geez lol that's the problem is that people arej ust like it's only 10 dollars so just shell it out even if it's not worth it. My problem is that I can buy it directly from their website for a dollar per chapter so I was wondering if there was a bunch of extra stuff to justify that price jump, or if Steam is just taking a huge cut from the profits.

As you may know, The Game Kitchen had to abandon their original business model (which was based on episodic crowdfunding) in order to meet their financial commitments. Although the individual episodes are available for purchase on their website, I'm guessing that they don't make much money on those transactions either. After all, $3 is an awfully low price for an adventure game. Personally, I bought the Collector's Edition partly for the extras, and partly because I wanted to pay a fair price that will help the company stay in business.

Having said that, I'm not sure how much of the revenue goes to Steam or POStudios.

That still doesn't answer the 7$ dollar jump, I mean, I am fine with it and you could also wait for a discount. But if the original price wasn't enough (I mean, as avec said, 3$ is a very low price) they could also step it up to justify the new price, I mean I know some people will whine about it but as long as the devs keep it chill I am sure there wouldn't be much of a problem, like they would only have to add 1.5$ dollars to each episode and that justifies the new price

Its probably $10 because its steam and they can charge more simply for that fact. As a business, if you can charge more and 'get away' with it, you tend to do so.
As for the differences between them, it's probably the Secrets. There may be more as well, but it seemes like those would be really easy to add and don't change the story much. Not ure what else would be different. Maybe the option to kill the crow?
silly me, I just realiced that this game comes with the soundtrack. The price is fair, but yeah, you can charge more because "Steam" so it's probably that and the soundtrack
