Question for anyone that remembers the Dreamcast game "Armada"

This is a longshot considering how long ago Armada came out and how little success it had, but I was one of the freaks that did enjoy it and I've been looking for something to scratch that itch off and on ever since. The genre of VS-type "bullet heaven" games seems like it's really close to that, and this one especially seems like it might be the closest fit yet. Does it come across that way when you're playing it?

No, you were not one of the weirdos, there were two of us hahaha, and the first impression I had while playing Raiden Nova was that it was a modern version of Armada from Dreamcast.
