x beyond the frontier has stopped working. I keep getting an error message and crashing during the loading cinematic. I verified all files and am not missing any to my knowledge.

Hey together, giving this game a revisit after all these years, mainly for nostalgia reasons. But I am stumbling aross some glaring QoL issues (not being able to see the map while SETAing being one and not being able to access your factories at all if you are not physically docked being the other (X:btF mind you, not X-tension). I found the tutorial ring test impossible to complete. How close do I have to get to activate the flower price? I've found it impossible to dock under 300 m and stop the ship from moving - the closest I get is 400+ m and end up crashing into the things constantly. I've wasted $5 on this annoyingly time consuming, unsatisfying game. This game shouldn't be offered for sale....

the joystick has16 buttons and a throttle but i can only use first 8 buttons and the throttle does not work at all any idea how to fix that? was trying to assign buttons in game advanced settings but it does not react to the throttle movement or when i push the buttons! Help Please :)...
