Please Help: Game Won't Start!

It's so stupid difficult to get any support on this game so I'm hoping someone can help me. When I click Play, the black Scumm box comes up, the screen goes black, and then it closes out. I never see any part of the game. I assume this probably only recently started, since I've played 6 hours of this game. I've tried reseting my computer, I deleted the game memory and reinstalled it, and I updated Scumm to 1.7.0. And I "verified the files" or whatever. Nothing helped. Any info regarding this problem would be super helpful. Thank you!

Maybe you might want to try running the game without ScummVM. If you're trying to run the game in a 64-bit version of windows: Just change the exe file's ext' to something else like 'w16', and then change the w32 file's ext' to 'exe' and that's it, now you can just run that w32/exe file! Doing this should also work for other HE games...

I'm not entirely sure what happens, but whenever this happens I just go validate the files. There'll be a missing file and it'll grab it again and it works!
