Putt-Putt Joins the Parade

Should Humongous Entertainment release a Putt-Putt remastered collection title for Steam?
Post your vote here; "yes" and "no" are your choices. You can also explain why it is your answer. I wanna see those nostalgia fans put up a petition for the remastered Putt-Putt game collection!

Congratulations, you are the first one to vote! Also, that's awesome! And I'd get it too, somehow.

YES - but I already paid $7 for the unmastered edition so I don't know how much they'd want to charge.

I played this when was I was a little kid - probably the first game i ever played. So I bought it for my son but the pixelation on a 27" 1080P monitor is terrible. I wish it could just be remastered as vectors that could scale to any resolution. Also, simple controls like "esc" to get to a save/quit/options menu aren't programmed because its so old.

Ok! Also, I don't know what Humongous Entertainment could charge you either.
Yes. I would buy it right away.

Maybe they could brainstorm new ideas for sequels and spinoffs that wreak of nostalgia? ;) Your guess is as good as mine.

In the Double Fine sense, yes. A remaster using upgraded visuals or studio-quality audio would be excellent. As it stands, though, we don't exactly need this to be remade. ScummVM is almost 100% compatible.

I'd be more interested in the old Blue's Clues adventure games they made. I was very disappointed when those never resurfaced, especially since ScummVM is mostly compatible with them.
Why not the Putt-Putt series? It could bring some new potential to the Humoungous Entertainment franchise. After all, the last we saw of Putt-Putt was in an activity collection. So why not try something new?

Is Humongous even in business anymore? As far as I know they haven't done anything in years.

i did a quick google, in 2001 Humongous wanted to become it's own company again through internal funding (it had been bought by another company) just on that day the internet bubble burst so they didn't. Not much later Atari the owner fired all the Humongous employees. Then the company was sold a bunch of times, it's now owned by Tommo, who decided to put all the games they owned by Humongous on steam.

and yes if they did a new putt putt I'd totally apreciate that. But that being said, it would have to be a NEW game in the spirit of the old one, maybe a bit modernized :P I mean we're better at lip syncing fish now than ever before so why not? (modernized mostly sound wise, the graphics were sweet and they in the end ARE children's games)

humongous entertainment is dead so they kinda can't? :/

Pretty sure Humongous Entertainment is defunct. These are all republished by Night Dive Studios, which has been acquiring a lot of old defunct licenses and refurbishing them. They did the same with Turok 1 and 2 and some other games. There's also a System Shock 1 remake that's kind of in Dev Hell right now.

I mean should Night Dive try to remaster them or otherwise make new ones? Sure, why not as long as they can manage to match the charm of the originals.

Yes, I would play Humongous Entertainment's SCUMM Engine games as Remasters, they would most likely use the Unreal Engine to capture them in Inventory Adventure Format. Just like when Disney & Square-Enix used the Unreal Engine to make Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2, KHX Black Cover & KH3
