Maneuver skill levels no longer showing

The character sheet that shows your skills used to also show how skilled you were at attack maneuvers. But now, when I play this game, it just shows the names of those skills and doesn't have a number next to them - even though I get skill points in them, after my fights.

That is correct. The reason is that in the internal calculations, the value for a maneuver is never used (the to-hit or dodge chance instead depends on the regular combat skills and stats). This makes maneuvers more reliable to a heroine who already has high stats/skills when she learns the manuever.

If this is true, why do maneuvers increase in level at all? After combat, the game shows that things like Riposte or Flurry increase. Shouldn't they never increase in value if their values don't matter in the game?
