A few minor fixes

Banned player pausing the game during cutscenes (I think this was occasionally causing bugs)
Made a bunch of typo/spelling/grammatical fixes
Changed the way vsynch works to try and cap FPS on high refresh monitor settings
Added a new source of memories in chapter 8

Additional Notes:
The game has been out a week now, and I'm hoping most of the initial bugs have been fixed now. As long as nothing terrible crops up the pace of patches might slow down a bit from now on.

Thanks for the feedback and typo spots etc. Its hard to catch everything when you are a solo dev so I appreciate the all the reports and the patience of anyone who waited for a fix or feedback. Thank you everyone for your support!

Is there any way to reduce madness?

I'm in Chapter 6, three of my characters are mad, only one is level 3, and I haven't figured out how to use the divining ring. . Do I need to start a new save?

Stuck in Chapter 3 (sigh)

The current locked rooms are Child's Room, Well House, and Lord's Room. All characters are at level 2. Lessons are not appearing, so I haven't been able to level anybody to 3. Didactic Program requires 4 Lessons to per level-up from 2. I've used Ritual Offering repeatedly, so now all my +1 task card stacks are full. The only (non-routine) tasks I have available are Document Box (requires 5 Substances), Joskel's Letter (requires Atticus at Secrets 4), Orderly Reference (requires Caligar to b...

Release Version Bugs and Feedback

Hello all! The game goes live today May 1st 2025. I am anticipating that there will likely be some bugs that have slipped by QA or just resurfaced. Hopefully they wont be too man or too bad. Chapter 8 Roadblock [minor spoilers]

Hi, I'm sorry to say I seem to be stuck at Chapter 8—my initial thought was that I'd be able to progress after every character completed the Silver Mirror ritual and fought their reflection that I'd just have to repeat it to find the rest of the next ritual pieces, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Another small patch to ease progression for some parts of the game

Burning ritual offerings can now also generate the gift of the rat

Greater insight now has a note to inform players to use it on themselves, rather than waste it on a minor task and then be unable to level their characters.

Stuck in Chapter 2

I successfully sealed the chapel. Now the plot is not progressing. The only unused task cards I have all require using the chapel, which is sealed. I have six pieces of the Composer. Nothing is spawning. I'm getting nothing useful in the laboratory, the clifftop, or the courtyard. Dreams aren't producing anything useful. Halp?...

10 hours in and enjoying the game as a means of relaxing after work with a drink. Not terribly hard, but interesting story.
Make it to chapter 8 and minor obstacle erases your bonus cards if you leave them in the room with it.
Suddenly something happened that shoved the monster into my card storage space.. Which erased all of my bonus cards ive spent a while building up, plus other supports and things i need to beat the game. Nevermind an enemy i need to beat keeps spawning in an area i cannot get the bonus cards to beat.

Since it single save files and overwrites each time, if i want to get back to where i was, i need to start all over from the begining.

Good lore and setting. Appreciate that the devs created a Lovecraftian game without simply lifting straight from Lovecraft's work. Gameplay is good, reminds me of Weather Factory games. Graphics are good, nothing unusually good but nothing negative either.

Something to note is that the game is a mystery game first, and a Lovecraftian game second. Sometimes character's reactions to the occult are a little underwhelming, (eg. None of the demons they meet are met with full-blown outright horror, and usually the party is aware of each demon's "domain"/function as an entity. Sometimes you'll get at most 1-3 lines about some supernatural phenomenon, and then it's back to business as usual). I won't put this down as a criticism since it's more of a writing/plot choice than actual poor writing.

Only criticisms are the short game length, and that the game map/board gets a little stale. Extradimensional spaces opening up as the plot progresses or some form of alternate map for the last few chapters would've elevated the experience greatly. The ending after-scenes are nice, but a more immediate one would've been welcome (eg, the entire team drinking and talking about their ordeal, or simply recollecting themselves after the job and all talking to each other on the lawn of the house would have been nice).

Overall, 7/10. A good game (if very short), and a great introduction-game for people unfamiliar with non-Lovecraft Lovecraftian settings.
