How do I beat the first chapter 6 boss?

I played from porlogue to chapter 6 in one sitting and got pretty far into the fight but every time I try it again now I died very quickly.

So far I got by very well just using scatter shot lockon (or focus lockon for bosses) and spamming the blade to get rid of projectiles.

That doesn't work anymore, but I can't really see another startegy either because the yellow shots cover the screen and come so fast without blade spam I die instantly.
I don't even have time to any shots on this boss unless in the brief shield phase after using EX attack.

Which lock-on methods are you using? Personally, I find it easier to have Neutral Lock-on set to Enemy, that way my neutral focus lock-on shots will lock to bosses quickly instead of trying to aim at it most of the time with Frontal. Still, I wish the developers would put put the PS4's versions content for the PC version so players can use the right stick to aim.

I tried enemy lockon but it's so inaccurate and while the cone is towards the general direction of enemies, it still isn't on the core you actually have to lock onto, so I still have to aim lockon manually.

But the main problem isn't that but that I have to swing the sword nonstop just to stay alive, I cannot shoot at all except once every blue moon against this boss.

Have you done a youtube search? When I'm stuck in a shmup game I just look for a really good run and try to emulate what they do.

What helped me was just being extremely aggressive in the close range, then backing off and evading fire when my health was low to allow it to regenerate.
