the leaderboards are also full of people cheating.
a lot of people also just cheat achievements because they think it makes them cool.
Just yesterday, over 10% of people who owned the game had unlocked the achievement, but today it's 0.7% for "1000K" and 0.4% for "know when to quit." Most of those are not legit. I think the value went down due to increased sales on Steam.
I don't understand using Cheat Engine to maximize leader board score, but the first and second page are proof that dozens of players can't seem to help themselves.
I believe there are several if not over a dozen of actual legit +1M scores on the leader board, but there are hundreds of scores above 20M which I don't believe a single one of them.
Here are a couple of 1 million double or nothing scores with proof:

I'm confident the odds with correct play to have a successful run like that is under 3% (if not below 1%) and it takes dozens of streamers playing for hundreds of accumulative hours to rack up just a handfull of good runs.
Here's a much more realistic expectation to have:

If it feels impossible, youre probably messing up.
Even playing perfectly, RNG is still on your side. But if you are playing perfectly, it shouldn't take more than 8 hours of gameplay to get all of them.
Sometimes it's not about doing as much damage as possible to the dealer. It's about taking as little damage as possible while that shotgun gets emptied.
Ask yourself, is there any way the Dealer could kill me this round? If so, how? Could I prevent it? Or could I at least drop his odds so much that he would need a miracle? Sometimes that's the problem. You can do something that looks quite harmless but it will increase the average damage you'll take in that round. It can even hurt you in the next round if you are burning through your items without a reason.
Survive the round. You then loot new items and go for the kill.
I 100% the game, then got a 4M score for good measure. All that in 12 hours of play. Maybe I'll try for more than 4M one day, but simply because of the run's duration, it's not that tempting. We'll see.
You mention the Dealer keeping saws through Round 3 as if you're not able to do the same. Whether with smart planning or luck, it's possible to 1-shot the Dealer in that way. Considering also items are cleared going into rounds 2 and 3, you'll only have to worry about the Dealer's carryover 1/3 of the time so it's still beneficial [although technically equal either way since all rules go both ways].
Before steam i watched a ton on youtube/twitch
First time before patch 40/60 and no 2x damage on 2-life first round
just before this post I died with 1M+
for 100% i now need 9 items in one round, a whole other way to play
wish me luck
Legit, every time I play, I get through two full rounds, and then at some point during the third round, the game gives us two lives each, four total rounds, I get two beers, and the dealer gets the handcuffs and the saw. No matter what strategy I employ in that scenario, I'm doomed. I'd just have to get lucky twice by shooting myself with two blanks and then just trade damage with the deeler, or getting lucky with both beers, and then with the 50/50. But every time, I have lost at least one of those coin flips, and had my run ended.
So the best strategy here is literally just shooting yourself with a live round.
Pop both beers to take out two shells. Hopefully, you take out one of the live rounds; you're cooked if you don't. Once there's two shells, shoot yourself on the 50/50; it's not great if you lose, but at least the dealer can't instakill you and you can snipe some more items.
I got to one million pretty easy within my first few attempts, but my second attempt to reach one mil for the other achievement has definitely been getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by RNG.
It's not a guaranteed loss.
LLBB, I'd live 100% of the times, for example. Not taking any damage.
BBLL is the worst possible scenario, happening 1 in 6. Then I'm dead, restart.
LBLB, I'd live 100% of the times, taking 1 damage
BLLB, I'd live 100% of the times, taking 1 damage
LBBL, I'd live 100% of the times, taking 0 damage, dealing 1 damage
BLBL, I'd live 100% of the times, taking 0 damage, dealing 1 damage
83% of the times I'd live. And if I do live, odds are it's without taking any damage.
If that's a guaranteed loss for you, it's a you problem.
That's not OCD, that's anal retentive, which is supposedly owing to conflict over toilet-training in infancy per wikipedia. Stop self-diagnosing yourself because you have no idea what OCD even is... just say anal retentive...
Also, only read your first sentence. The rest is a blog post nobody will read.
People use cheats in literally every single multiplayer game
They cheat in some of the most random games, too.
Like, PGA golf 2k1 or trackmania, if it has a scoreboard, then people are cheating or using exploits
It's like when I was playing Forza Horizon 5, and I was doing the jump challenges, and the leader boards show people jumping like 80km.
I'm getting maybe 1100m, and asking myself how that happened
Well, that was an exploit specific to one car, a Porsche, if you threw it 8j manual, and then did something else, I forget, your car would just be non-stop accelerating
So...the jump I was trying to get to the leader boards on, was a big ramp jump at the end of the airfield
No wonder how some people got ridiculous distances. They made their Porsche go like 9999km/h
Edit: *even* games no one cares about or probably haven't heard of. Like, Horizon Chase Turbo
I played HCT somewhere and tried to get all the achievements with a friend and I struggle and I get sub 2 minute but all the way up at the top of the leaderboards is someone who is beating all tracks in like 38 seconds..
Since the update. I've lost 20 times in a row without even getting to double winnings once.
20. TIMES. IN. A. ROW.
Before the update I could almost reach 100K, now I can't even do that anymore. What is going on with the item RNG in this game? How can some people be saying "oh ez". I don't get it.
