SteamDeck Oled Crashing
It used to work excellently, but I don’t know why. Today (maybe after a Steam Deck update or a game update), it crashes after the logo.

Try running different versions of the game.
Open the game settings -> Properties -> Compatibility tab. Tick the checkbox "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool", and select the following from drop-down menu:
  • Linux version: Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (scout)
  • Windows version: Proton 9.0-3.
I'm personally running Linux version on Steam Deck LCD, and it works just fine.

Note that there are no cloud saves. So if you don't want to replay the regular match to unlock Double or Nothing mode, you can move the save files. They are cross compatible.
  • Native Linux: ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Buckshot Roulette/
  • Proton: ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2835570/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Godot/app_userdata/Buckshot Roulette/
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Buckshot Roulette\

Just move all the ".shell" files, and you should be good.
To access hidden folders in Dolphin file manager, press the burger button on top right, and tick the checkbox "Show Hidden Files".

Hi!

That's extremely weird and we weren't able to reproduce this yet.
We need a bit more time to figure out what's going on, but we didn't push any changes to the general branch, so it must be related to something Steam Deck-specific.

Thank you for reporting in and sorry for not having an immediate solution — we'll see what we can do!

Hey dev, it appears this issue appears on Linux generally; I am running the game under Proton 1.0 (version selected by Valve Testing), and it randomly crashes.

I am running the game on Arch Linux, x86_64, kernel 6.11.4-arch2-1, under Hyprland (Wayland)

My specs:
CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) E5-2689 0 (16) @ 3.60 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series

There was a recent update to the Steam Deck and it seems it broke the functionality of the game. It does start sometimes, but it's not possible to properly play with a controller as inputs are not properly registered.

As the Multiplayer is about to be released, I sincerely hope you manage to find the issue and patch it.

Crashes on my Steam Deck OLED too, waiting for a fix
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This should be pinned or something. The game works fine now that I'm playing it on Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (scout). Still, this issue should be fixed, even if Valve was the one at fault for breaking the game.
