itch.io owners left in the dark?

Is there fr no steam codes given out? People been saying that the game is "cheaper on itch.io than on steam" as if the game was on steam before it was on itch.io in the first place. At least other itch.io games like Atlyss, Anthology of the Killer, A Short Hike, NitW, VVVVVV, Pikuniku, countless others give you a steam code. The game is "cheap", but not all of us have disposable income.

i looked into it, there is nothing that says "you will get a steam key if you buy it on itch" so the dev is not required to give you guys a free steam code

bruh, the game came out on itch over half a year before it came to steam. we had no idea it was even coming to steam with extra updates exclusive to it.

thanks, although unfortunately this cannot happen within one day. ive been in this position for around 3 years, and, due to rising costs of living in general its going to be a long and tough battle being able to put a roof under my head, as well as be able to eat every day as well. i ended up prioritizing the latter over the former.

that is why i play video games though, to forget/distract the things that go on in every day life. it may not be entirely healthy but its a coping mechanism a lot of people do hold; and because of that, i do wish everyone who purchased the game on itch.io would receive a steam copy, not just myself. there are plenty of people out there who are in even worse positions that im in, and similarly only have the things on hand that can entertain them in a time in need.
