it would be nice to put down the shotgun after picking it up
this game is has a lot of strategy to it so being able to put the shotgun down after accidentally picking it up would be good

The voices grow stronger when you pick it up. You must not put it down.
And proceed to shoot yourself maybe

I would also like to put it down, to cancel my final action and play one more item or something

Yeah, this was something I've always thought would be an amazing addition to the game, especially in Double or Nothing where item usage literally dictates if you go to square 1 or not.

Losing run to a missclick is a good thing, yes. People already struggling to get 1M in fact must LOVE this feature.

Not really, no.
Imagine a point and click game - you know, the kind that has you frequently going "use X on Y".
Now imagine when you click X, and realize "oh never mind, I can't use this yet" the game refuses to let you cancel, you MUST select the Y to use it on no matter what.
And imagine it causes events to progress regardless of the choice you made.

It's not a good thing. It's simply bad design (albeit a very minor one, but still worth changing, especially as mentioned in DoN mode).

Agree. Next suggestion is to let you roll back a turn because you made a mistake.

I wouldn't mind a "put down shotgun" feature. Probably more of a Quality of Life than anything else, but it would be harmless and allow you to second-guess whether you do want to saw off the gun before firing.

The game works like this with items too. There's no "confirm" prompt; when you click an item you use it immediately. I honestly like that you HAVE to commit to your choices.

The commitment is part of the game I'd say. I've had a few times where this would have saved my stupid ass, but it would honestly take away from the game.

i disagree, the main thing that makes the game fun is to play is to see who is strategically better at the game like in chess for example, the reason i don't like how picking up the shotgun works is because it is just something that has been in the game since v1 when there were less items and interactions to consider and i wouldn't consider it fair if my opponent makes a mistake due to game design rather than an oversight

?? Imagine if the game forced you to use an item because you moused over it. Would you be defending it? When you've picked up the shotgun you still haven't necessarily committed to a choice. ALSO, putting down the shotgun and rolling back ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time to brute force a win are completely different things.
I swear, this community has some kind of disease that makes 45% of the takes I see here absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ braindead.

You don't use items when mousing over them, you use item when you CLICK on them. You use the shotgun when you click on it.
You cannot put items back down after you committed to use them. You cannot put the shotgun back down after you committed to use it.

Your logic makes no sense.

Also thanks for the award, bro.

your own point is invalid. One of the rules of Chess is once you have moved a piece the decision is final and can not be recalled.
yeah but thats after making a choice, not before one

You made the choice when you clicked the gun, same way you make a choice when you click an item.
its not a choice when clicked accidentally, quaaludes also have a choice not to be used if clicked on accidentally
