Expired Medicine

I don't know if I'm very unlucky, but the new item Expired Medicine almost always heals him and hurts me, in a single game he used it 4 times and in all of them it healed him and i used it once. and hurts me, is it really very bad luck or there is something wrong with the probability

it's confirmation bias, allow me to make an assumption:

you probably almost never use the pills because you don't want to roll the 50% chance it'll hurt you - and if you're ever thinking of that you're already down at least one life.
On a 2 life round that'll kill you. (from 1)
On a 3 life round that can potentially doom your run since if you're thinking of using medicine you likely cannot prevent the dealer from getting another chance to shoot you. (From 2)
On a 4 life round, if you have 3 lives left, you MIGHT gamble on it. Maybe. Most likely you're just popping it to clear space for items in the holdover round.

All of this means you almost never use the pills, and then humans naturally remember the negative experiences stronger than the positive ones.

pills just kind of suck, and that's honestly okay since you can use them as bait for dealer's adrenaline rather than him stealing your info items or whatever.

Also I don't want them to be buffed because watching Dealer drop like a rock is hilarious.

Expired Medicine's pretty much a "last resort" option in the most optimal use. If you highly doubt you'll survive Dealer's next shot, best to roll for a heal than not. And yeah, alternatively use it as bait for the Dealer to roll instead, I've had probably about even odds of him healing and taking damage.

I'm probably also of the belief most of these accusations is some form of confirmation bias, where the Dealer must be cheating because he wins sometimes. Most times it can be in your favor if you know what you're doing and acknowledge the other times are inevitably not.

It's 50/50 in my experience. I kinda hate it because the purpose of the other items is making the game less random and this is shuffling it more.

I'd recommend generally not using the pills, as the risk usually outweighs the reward. I only use them under three circumstances:

1. There's no way I'm getting lucky and surviving without them.
or
2. I have 2 health but the dealer has a handsaw and 1 less health won't make me any worse off than I already am.
or
3. There's no way I can take any more damage before the next load, I have exactly 2 health and a maximum of 4.

In my experience, Expired Medicine healed The Dealer 8 out of 10 times and damaged me 8 out of 10 times. That was before the latest patch but I just stopped using it whatsoever. The risk isn't worth it. I understand that it's random, but odds were always against me.

It does seem like we both (player and dealer) have a lot of bad luck with expired medicine.

everytime since the update, the dealer always healed from it, hes never taken damage at all.

For the dealer it has been about 50/50 whether it hurts him or not, but I've used it about a dozen times and every single time it hurts me. Horrible luck.

I had the dealer die twice in a row from the medicine. You just had bad luck.

He lost one life. like you die when you get shot by a shotgun and then get reanimated by a defibrillator.

YEP I AGREE! THE PILLS DO MORE DAMAGE THAN GOOD... [at least for me ]
Last resort... as said earlier its just used when clearing space for items
