Can the phone lie?

I've had several times of acting on intel the phone gave me that resulted in me losing. Can it lie?

No, its not lying. You just using it wrong. Phone is always giving you true advices.

Just a quick note: the phone tells you about the shells that are *still in the chamber*.
Which means if you're on a third shell out of 6 and the phone tells you "second shell... blank", it means that actually the next (fourth) shell is blank.
