I don't get why the dealer...
...shoots himself why it's clear that there's one real bullet in the shotgun
Ok, if i have a blank shell, apparently he's "forced" to shoot himself
But sometimes if i shoot at him...he's forced too? I mean, he seems to not know (when it's obvious) if the shells are live or not
is this a bug?
Anyone noticed this? Overall, good game, like the athmosphere

It's just bad AI and that's it.
Since the game was very hyped, the developer could improve the AI before releasing it again. I saw some videos on youtube about this. The AI can be easily fixed to not be so stupid. The dev decided to release the game as is on steam.
Enjoy!

Wait till you try Double or Nothing mode 🤫
Mistalleks  [developer] Apr 5, 2024 @ 10:41am
Despite what Boyar would like you to think, Mike did improve the Dealer's AI in double-or-nothing mode.

Which mode were you playing? The standard mode? Double-or-nothing?
If it's the "story" mode -- the Dealer still acts silly there, as we didn't want the game to become too hard.
If it's double-or-nothing -- this might indeed be a bug. And if so, could you share more about what happened, please?

no it's the thing that (in my mind at least) when it's clear that there's a live shell in the shotgun, ...am i forced to shoot the guy?
I'm playing double or nothing, but i don't get it...like, ok if i shoot myself and it's blank i survive but why i have to shoot the dealer? (with two shells one blank and one live)
i mean some situations aren't very clear
maybe i didn't understand the rules...i mean it's intended? The fact that when you have 1 live shell and two blank, the dealer must shoot himself even if he know that's a live shell for sure?
If this is the case, i'm sorry i didn't want to assume things, (i'm not even a native speaker) hope to have a better understanding of the game, i just discovered it and i like it a lot

Ok, so if i shoot myself and it's blank, the dealer has to wait another round; but if i shoot him and it's live, i won the round? Sorry i'm confused, anyway hope in some clarification

EDIT: one example, two shells one live and one blank, now with a beer i expelled the live, so i shoot blank at myself, but in this way...maybe it wasn't how i imagined things or rules

How exactly was AI improved? Is it just item use or they are no longer flipping a coin every round except last/phoned one?

...basically i don't get why the dealer shoot himself when it's clear that there could be only a live shell inside the shotgun.
Is this normal? Maybe i don't get the rules LOL
(i'm playing in double-or-nothing mode, and i agree it's difficult)

If its not phone/last shell dealer simply flips a coin, or at least they used to in old version of game, no double or nothing is supposed to have tougher dealer, how exactly I have no idea but at very least they are not using the item for swapping shell type, old AI would use it asap unless it knew shell is live from spyglass/phone/being last.

So yes, 3/0 with dealer shooting themselves is perfectly normal 50% of the time.

Ah, you're talking about the main purpose of pointing the shotgun at yourself.
If you shoot yourself and it's a blank, you get another turn. So yes, if there are two shells left, you shot yourself, and you were lucky to get a blank — you get a free turn to shoot the dealer.

You can also do this until you shoot yourself with a live round. If there are 3 blanks in a row, you can choose to shoot yourself 3 times in a row.

But if you shoot yourself with a live round the turn goes to the Dealer. Even if you shot yourself with a live on the first try.

All of these rules apply to the Dealer too.

Ok, thanks for explaining me this, but in those situations where it's clear that the shell in the shotgun is blank or live, the dealer is "forced" to shoot himself?
Or i didn't pay attention?
Like, if i have one shell blank and i shoot the dealer, the round it's on him right?
But at that point he shoot himself? (with one blank and the other live i mean)

OH, also i noticed that (i'm sure i'm right) the phone gave me the wrong hint...is this a bug?

It's both item usage and a tiny bit of calculating the probability. Basically, the Dealer tries to act like at least a somewhat competent player would.

Standart mode only contains bug fixes in the Dealer AI, and not the improved version.

I'd have to get the exact details from Mike, but it mike take some time. So forgive me, if it's gonna take a day or two. He's busy fixing the bugs atm.

This might be a bug, actually.... In our tests this didn't happen, and Dealer knew the type of last shell even in the previous version of the game. Especially if what you ask happens often.

Can I ask you to send me the data logs found in:
C:\Users\(your profile name)\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Buckshot Roulette/logs

Use any file sharing website you'd like and send the link here!
