Ie a live becomes a blank and a blank becomes a live.
also The dealer suddenly rocking a gaurenteed kill set up happened even in the original release of the game. Magnifying glass + hand cuffs + Hack saw could often lead to you just dying if you didn't randomly start with more then 3 hp. the inverter being removed would do absolutely nothing to this.
good thing that this happened so often i can count the amount of times it happened to me on one finger.
only reason i ever lost in this version is because i just so happened to lose on a gamble and the dealer had an inverter and a way to guarantee at least one hit no matter what, which more often than not also turns into 2 damage thanks to adrenalin, hacksaw, or handcuffs. as it is rn, the inverter is terrible as it completely ruins the balance of the game. i dont want to do intense mental gymnastics to figure out a way to only take 2 damage instead of 3, killing me instantly. if it changed a random shell instead of the loaded one it wouldve been at least somewhat excusable, but the way it is currently makes the game a chore
It definitely requires knowledge and item setups but that's exactly what it's supposed to do, keeps you on edge that you can't rely on blanks so you gotta do whatever you can to avoid that "free" damage just like countering and preventing usage of the other effective items
We're looking very closely at the player's feedback for new items, so we'll keep an eye on how the conversation will unfold. However, right now we don't consider the Inverter to be a critical issue to the balance of the game.
Preventing the usage of the other effective items includes killing him first, cuffing him, or using your adrenalin (if you have it) just so he doesnt get to. Last night i ended up gettint a screenshot of the dealer with 2 inverters, 2 magnifying glasses, 2 saws, 2 adrenalin, while i only had 1 saw. What am i supposed to do? Even if i had any stalling items, he could just take them for his turn and i would wind up even more dead. I dont remember the shell count at the time, but iirc it was something like 2 live 2 blank? So from my aide of the table, all I could do was guess, and even if i managed to get a live and score a hit on the dealer, purely by guessing, he could just check the round and no matter if it was a live or a blank could just hit me back. Same with the next shot.
I dont think the inverter would be anywhere near as bad if the shell that was inverted was randomly selected as you or the dealer could gamble on generating a deadlier clip, but as it is right now it breaks how the game works completely.
