Game is fun but...
The AI doesn't know which bullets are left to fire, it doesn't count the blanks and lives we're shown at the beginning of each round, it doesn't make the game too easy but way easier than if I'd play against a player because of that.
If I know there are 2 lives left the AI might still shoot itself in the face.

Are you sure? That never happened to me.
In my games the AI never messes up a "sure result".

Yes, and what just happened is even worse, he used the magnifying glass then drank a beer and the shell was a blank, it makes no sense at all, I would have shot myself and make him skip a turn knowing it was a blank, not eject the blank shell.

Yeah, the beer blank can happen. Though I've never seen the guy shooting himself when it knows the current bullet must be a real one.

I have encountered this once so far. Doesn't bother me too much as i just disregard the bug as him miscounting or sth.

Thank you for your feedback! I've forwarded this information to our developer. There are some problems with the AI, we hope that such issues will be fixed in the future!

Thanks, maybe it's a small probability that the AI doesn't remember and I got this mistake on my first match lol

There is a video on YouTube disecting Dealer's AI
https://youtu.be/kIf-2b8pu0A

TLDR of it is it doesn't calculate odds. If there's an uncertainty on what shot is next, it's a coin toss.
The Dealer can be certain on what the next shot is if it inspects the shotgun with a magnifying glass or if it's the last shot in the round. If that's the case, it will act accordingly
Then there are items. Dealer uses items ASAP, even if it's counterproductive. For example, ejecting a blank with a beer even if you can, welp, just shoot yourself. Then there's the fact that the Dealer uses items in a random order, which can look very smart (uses beer, ejects a blank, uses glass, shoots you with a live) or very, very, VERY stupid (uses glass, ejects a blank with a beer, shoots itself with a live). This can happen too

Edit: Also, keep in mind this is pre-Steam version. There may've been changes under the hood we don't know about. If this video is outdated or not is only one way to find out. And if there actually were some changes we don't know about... I beg the dev to not spoil the surprise C:

I noticed the dealer not counting how many blanks and lives are left back on the Itch version and I've encountered him doing the same on the Steam version, nothing changed about that. I just wonder if it's a bug or a feature to make the game a tad bit easier.

I come from the future of the Steam release. That mofo is on top of everything, definitely haven't seen weird and random item usage like the above examples

Yes, I do confirm AI doesn't count blanks. This leads to hilarious situations, like 2 blanks were already used (3 lives and 2 blanks round) and the dealer chooses to shoot himself. LOL.

My dude shot himself 3 times, first 2 were blanks but he still decided to shoot himself again despite that being statistically worse than just shooting me and he died

Dealer shooting himself 3 times in a row is 0.5^3=0.125, so 12.5% chance

Not exactly a freak accident, but it is hilarious

Hey!

This video is a bit outdated now since we tweaked The Dealer's AI for Double or Nothing mode. However he still works the same in the regular mode.

We mentioned it in the launch announcement, so it's not even a spoiler tbh

Oh, hi! Thanks for your response!

Just wondering, is there a reason why The Dealer's AI was tweaked for DoN mode only and not for story mode? Aside from new items obviously, lol

Didn't really feel the need to tinker with the story mode tbh, this matters way more in the DoN with the new leaderboards anyway.
