I believe it's an artistic choice to achieve that pixelated look. But I'll have to confirm this with Mike on Monday.
What are your system specifications?
Thats its my problem. He gave you the key. My native screen resolution is 1366x768 too, but im using another screen to play, and use 1920x1080.
As such, it's going to take considerably more time to find out what's exactly causing this in order to fix it. Apologies 🙏
I have an Intel+Nvidia combination (i5-3320M, GeForce 710M), when I disable Nvidia everything works fine. Although in the Nvidia control panel the Intel integrated video card is selected by default.
This is a GODOT game, which uses Vulkan rendering API by default. And a lot of older Apple products do not support it at all. OpenGL isn't a win-win solution however, as modern GPUs actually perform worse on it for some reason. And it's a different rendering API from Vulkan anyway, so we'll have to remake a lot of visuals.
Right now, the band-aid fix to let players with lower-end PCs at least play the game, was to just rip out some of the effects that previously were broken in OpenGL. This is why the lighting looks so odd, there is no blood and no fog in OpenGL version.
Currently, Mike is focused on the multiplayer, and since he works solo, there isn't much being done about OpenGL. And that's just OpenGL — making a MacOS version is another story.
I'm not saying we're not doing this and abandoning you -- we actually would like to make everything work everywhere. But it is going to take quite some time to get there. Hope this answers your question in full
