It's common practice for Itch games to give out Steam keys, any games I've bought off Itch that have come to Steam I've recieved a key, they have also not confirmed whether people who own the Itch version will actually get future content updates after 1.2.
So it's just wait and see at the moment whether they'll hike the price up because it got popular or just do a small increase to compensate for the 0.20 extra they'd lose on here. I'll easily buy it again if it's a small increase otherwise I'll just stay away.
