Constructive Criticism: Problems with Double or Nothing
I've def. played my moneys worth on Buckshot Roulette and I have enjoyed my time, but it kind of rakes me that double or nothing isn't as fun **as it could be.**

A few observations

* The mode is extremely slow, often taking 8-10 minutes per 3 round cycle. With no way to save and quit, it makes it difficult to justify continuing playing or go for a high score because it means going for the $1M achievement could take over an hour.

* Speaking of high score, I think the scoring needs to be reworked. Since it's "double or nothing" the first 3-round cycle is the most important and if you don't score well, there's basically no point in continuing. I've had the $ after the first 3-rounds range from $45k - $25k and even as low as $10 (I took a screenshot). When you score low, it means your run failed because the only way to proceed is to double your current score. This also contributes to the slow feeling of the game.

* There aren't enough load variations. I've been recording hands for each game and noticed there are never more lives than blanks. The overwhelming majority of loads are either 50/50 distributions (1/2, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4), 1/3, or 4/7. Some variety here could really shake things up.

* The "2 Life" Rounds are sometimes unwinnable, which adds to the slow feeling. I know theoretically the game should feel more luck than skill, but there are times when no matter what you do the dealer's item set is too good. For example, if the dealer has saw, magnifying glass, and inverter he is guaranteed to kill you on your turn. And if you don't randomly pull the right items, your entire run is over before you take your turn.

* To the point above, I'd like to suggest an item called "Fast-Acting Pain Killers" or "Kough Syrup." Using it would give you +1 Temporary HP that goes away at the beginning of your next turn. This would create new strategies without needing to rebalance the whole game and could reduce (but not eliminate) the possibility of unwinnable starting states.

I do agree the time-based scoring could be adjusted. Since I saw a few complaints of getting $10 (an absurdly low score compared to the ~31,500 you need for an 18-win million), increase the minimum to 10,000. Maybe nerf the rate you lose cash as well so you don't have to worry as much if the rounds get stalled too.
I like the idea of a temporary +1 item, but I think it should have a condition. Maybe have it so it only negates the double damage of a saw. That would also protect against a 3 life autolose when dealer has cuffs. I think if it was an unconditional +1 it would drag the rounds out too much. There are already 2 heal items, I don't think there should be a 3rd.

I also just don't think 1/1 loads should happen at all. If you have a beer, magnifying glass, phone, adrenaline, or cuffs, you are completely guaranteed to get a hit and a 2nd turn after the next load. If you have an inverter, then you get 2 guaranteed hits. Too easy.

I'd be interested in this. It doesn't simply negate an autolose, but it does give you more time and gives the dealer some more options so he's less predictable.

the counterplay to the 2 life rounds is to never pass the shotgun. If you dont have atleast 1 beer, inverter, glass, phone, cuff or adrenaline with the opponent not having any of those to adrenaline steal & the opponent having a saw, then yes it is unwinnable. If you have any of those items & coin flip correctly, at most you take is 1.

You only pass the shotgun if you aim at the dealer or shoot yourself with a live round. You can do all 8 shells with the right items & coin flips.

Hi!

Thank you so much for such detailed feedback!
We were (and still are) considering some of these changes for future updates (multiplayer in particular), but we haven't yet decided on DoN scoring. We'll see in the future, I guess

I just got a run as low as 9k on DoN, it also dragged quite a bit.. so yeah i honestly felt insulted, particularly since i was attempting for the 1M, i also took the cash to confirm i saw correctly (sadly i did). So as the cash was so low its just literally more efficent (and quick, less luck needed) to start from scratch.

My suggestion is that it should just be a fixed 50k, also i'm fairly sure people have cheated the leaderboards, if something can be done with that would be great

I agree with this, im a completionist and I spent like 2-3 hours trying to reach $1M achievements but I failed enough to just ended up being frustrated, and not because it's just hard, for how messy it's just pass the first state with a decent amount of money to not be a waste of time.

And I like when an achievement it is hard to pass, but when you add to the mix it's boring... I will ended up doing it because I want the 100%, but Im sure it will be hella frustrating.

While I do think the scoring system could use some sort of a change (having no control over it if a 4 charge round with a lot of cigarettes pops up is grating), you shouldn't be having trouble getting a 1m viable score somewhat consistently. You only need 31,250 to reach 1m in the minimum number of rounds (because unless you're using glitches, you're not starting with 62,250+) which is a very feasible starting amount.

I need more hours in the game for sure, i got more than 31k more than once, i just died with 600-800k $ all those times. I had vad RNG with items and It was hard to save those rounds, but would be nice a little rework and a balance of DoN, nothing big but enough good to improve the general gameplay, specially in the first round
