Mods aren't supported unfortunately. I was a newbie programmer when I started this, so I had no idea where to even begin with that stuff.
Next time (if there is a next time), I have a better idea how to proceed.
In the meantime, a lot of my friends still have a great time modding Freespace 2. It's the grand master of moddable space game engines.
Hey Dev,
Bought your game and love it though no mod support is a tad sad. Would you give me any recommendations for Freespace 2 mods?
Also Diaspora, the BSG flight sim, which doesn't even require an FS2 install!
Nothing you will ever play after this will hold up to it. You will be jaded, forever.
This game did pick my curiosity a bit, but all the reviews have one thing in common: they complain it's short.
I don't know how user made missions differ from outright mods, so I mean to ask if there's any chance to have some form or mission editor?
I am curious about this too. I was about to buy the game, but once i saw reviews saying that the game has around 4 hours of content I got hesitant. I have very little income to spend on games, so I have to choose which ones have the most longevity. If this had community mod support or a community mission creator, it would be an instant buy for me.
Are you using Unity3D? :)
Your control scheme in HOTDS is out of whack. Be better if you made the roll twice the current and yaw half the current level. That control scheme is from NASA like 60 years ago and still is legit. Right now it appears yours is the exact same rotational rate on all three axiis. Obviously you also want to have the pitch not be so high at higher speeds to reduce G-forces on very capable and modern digital FBW planes, but it appears you may already be doing that part.
