Also, a gamepad is a much better tool for this sort of game that a mouse and keyboard.
That said, having unbound keys by default is very annoying and I feel your pain.
Luckily the dev is very involved and is eager to help. This kind of project is thier baby and I;m sure you'll get a reply soon.
EDIT: also, you called it a flight simulator, which it is, and they are traditionally played with other controllers (joystick, HOTAS, gamepad) than a mouse and keyboard. So you kind of acknowledge the problem as acceptable by pointing that out ^^
It's not a flight simulator. As for gamepads, why? Because they are so common, that you are going to appeal to a very broad audience. Flight stick set-ups, especially the really good ones, are not actually all that common.
I don't even understand the problem you're having, the tutorial tells you which keys to press to do what, and even a cursory glance at the options menu is enough to get a basic idea of what you need to be pressing. It was actually fairly simple, at least in terms of moving the ship and making use of your weapons.
ahahh what a laught is this..
Mouse/KB work fine (outside of VR anyway)
*edit: the setting is called "Switch Combat Mode" under system
You dont need VR and you dont need a gamepad. But gamepads are cheap anyway. Get an adapter for your old PS controller you have lying around, or stop moaning.
If you can't afford an Xbox controller for Windows, then really you should be questioning whether paying for an internet connection is a good idea or not.
Please see above I answer your question. Feel free to ignore people coming in here to push their opinions instead of being helpful.
Sorry Kryptic you are completely right on that point. Use the 'Switch Combat Mode" setting and the mouse button 4. Although is it worth noting that the game is labelled as "requires the use of a gamepad".
Added extra. Works well without VR, but even a TrackIR will be such a great enhancement
*Facepalm*
You. Don't. Have. To. Use. A. Controller. It. Is. Optional. But. Plays. Better. With. One.
Just refund the game and move on, it's obviously too complicated for you. That's okay, not everyone can play these types of games, and that's fine, you just have to realise your limit.
Charlie, I've been running around like a crazy person Are you trying to use mouse and keyboard in VR? Or normally? KBAM isn't supported in VR and I will put a note on the store page about that ASAP.
From what I gather, you're hitting forward ('W'?) and nothing is happening. Is this right at the start of the tutorial? Do you see "Press ENTER/Mouse4 to control this fighter" at all or is that missing?
