"Additional content 1,2 and 3" each raise the lv. cap by 300 (meaning alltogether to lv. 999)
They each get a specific dungeon to grind in and unlock new entries in the colloseum for the corresponding lv. cap (399 / 699 / 999)
I'd only recommend to get these if you want to get the money farming achievement, as they make it more tolerable. Maybe buy, but deactivate them in your Steam DLC tab for your first playthrough or something. I honestly wouldn't recommend these for a first timer.
Otherwise, there's the tag along DLC, so your 2 other chosen party members are visibly walking with you through the dungeon.
Just don't get these and you should be fine:
"Colosseum + Characters DLC" (The so called "Oracles", introduced in Re,Birth 2)
"Uzume Battle Entry" (Uzume, introduced in Megadimension VII)
"Plutia Battle Entry" (Plutia, introduced in Re,Birth 3)
"Peashy Battle Entry" (Peashy, introduced in Re;Birth 3)
"Histoire Battle Entry" (While Histoire is an important character in Re;Birth 1, she's DLC and stupidly OP"
"Babysitter's Club" (Chibi IF and Compa, introduced in Re;Birth 3)
Nepgya would like you have a word with you.
